Immunosuppression Screen

How to use the Screening tool

A free five-minute questionnaire

Immunosuppression Screen is a free 5-minute online questionnaire designed for maximum simplicity and ease of use. The tool is designed by clinicians for doctors, nurses or other health practitioners, but could be used by patients too. Patients should always work with their health care teams on identifying and managing risks.

The tool considers risks in 6 categories:

  1. Cardiovascular risk
  2. Infections
  3. Vaccination status
  4. Cancer risk
  5. Fertility and breastfeeding planning
  6. Corticosteroid risk management
Clinical information is filtered and organised to refine a large number of potential risks into two patient-tailored lists to be used in the ongoing care of the patient:
  1. Immunosuppression problem list
  2. Tasks to be completed

I am not sure I have all the information required

You do not need to have a complete set of data to make a start. Anything you are uncertain about will display in the "Tasks to be completed" list.

If many tasks remain to be completed, the tool can be used again for the same patient when more information is available. However, the original form will not be saved in the database as no patient information is collected or retained.

How do I manage risks identified by Immunosuppression Screen?

The risk assessment tool helps identify risks but does not provide advice about how to manage those risks. The management of the risks remains the responsibility of the user with reference to local practice and guidelines.

What about patient privacy?

The risk assessment tool collects no identifying patient information and it is the responsibility of the health care provider to correctly link the report to the patient concerned.

Can I practice before I use?

You are welcome to practice with "dummy" data to see how it works. In our testing trials we found that new users find Immunosuppression Screen very easy to use.

We have local risks that are not covered by Immunosuppression Screen

Individual users may wish to develop their own additional risks for consideration based upon local factors or specific drug regimens. Please feel free to provide us with feedback – see the "Help improve" tab.
